The two most popular methods are immersion based and spray based, both of which can do so in a number of different ways. The variety amongst industrial parts cleaners is astounding. An immersion parts cleaner can take a number of shapes. Agitating parts cleaners immerse parts into a vat of cleaning solution that begins to bubble because of mechanical energy that flows through the solvent. Thus, without having to be sprayed or shaken, the parts within the solvent are thoroughly cleaned. This system works best for smaller parts that can be easily immersed and is also able to handle mass amounts of small parts at once. The same is true for another immersion washer, the ultrasonic washer, which is one of the newest parts washers on the market today. After the parts are immersed in liquid, ultrasonic washers utilize ultrasonic waves through the solvent to release grime, dirt and debris from the parts. Immersion washers are not energy and time efficient for all parts that need to be cleaned. Aqueous parts washers utilize sprays to clean parts, often attached to high powered nozzles that are set up to hit the parts from every angle. One of the most common aqueous parts washers is one with a conveyor belt for time efficiency. Rotary washers, which turn the parts within a basket in a circular motion while being sprayed with numerous nozzles, is another popular model.
