Flexible Shaft Couplings

Shaft couplings are extremely invaluable in protecting machinery from stress, wear, and thus, untimely failure. This is because they often significantly lengthen the working life of the parts they connect. In precision applications, flexible couplings are compensating for three axes of shaft misalignment, while accurately transmitting velocity, position, and torque. To increase engagement between shaft and bore, a shaft-locking compound is often recommended. These will also reduce the likelihood of slippage during operation, which can be very damaging. Using a non-permanent thread-locking compound on all set screws and clamping screws is also recommended.
