Differential Pressure Switch Benefits

Pressure switches are very important in part in industrial machine equipment. Their job is to monitor the changes in fluid or gas pressure at any given time in a specific area. Some are automatic and can create a reaction if a pressure level has gone too high or too low and take care of the situation. faviconOthers set off an alarm so the correct action can be taken by a person. A few different types of them include adjustable, air compressor, differential, furnace, high, hydraulic, low, oil, vacuum, water and well pump pressure switches. These ensure that machines are maintaining the correct pressure levels for performance standards. If a machine is running at a pressure that is too low or too high it could to damage to it costing a company repair fees or even a replacement cost.

A pressure differential switch monitors and regulates the pressure between an enclosed area and an open environment. In other words they measure the pressure in two areas at the same time. Both of those readings are compared to each other and the reader then produces a reading stating the difference in pressure. When the pressure of both areas is the same the reading on the switch will be zero. If the switch senses that the pressure is different in either area the reading will display what the difference in pressure between the two areas is. Differential pressure switches are set to a certain actuation point and when the pressure either rises or falls above or below that point it takes action. Some have an alarm set to go off for manual operation. Others are set to automatically adjust the pressure by either turning something on or off depending on the situation. They are very helpful in assuring machine operations.
