4 Shapes Made through Metal Spinning

Spin forming is the process of creating shaped metal pieces, usually rounded in shape, on a lathe or with other metal spinning tools. Spun metal has surprising strength and can be made into a variety of shapes. Although many factories use molds, rollers, or presses to create metal objects, many factories still use the process of spin forming aluminum. Spun aluminum pieces have the strength of the original metal plus additional strength provided by the shaping process. Helium Stored in Pressure Vessels

I’ve always thought helium tanks resembled torpedoes. All that is missing is the fins at the end and the explosive innards. In a way, submarines are a kind of a giant pressure vessel. I’ve used a helium tank a couple times handing out balloons at the local farmers market. The pressure in the tank pushes the helium out and fills a balloon making some lucky child very happy. Of course, chances are their hopes and dreams are desecrated when the balloon escapes and ascends into the heavens.

Is Medical Tubing Recyclable After Use?

Earlier this year, I went with my roommate to start donating plasma in order to earn some extra income. It’s a daunting process the first time you go. You go through two hours of physicals and questionnaires before you can actually start donating. My roommate didn’t survive the process. He almost passed out during the survey; coincidentally right on the question “some people may faint during the process, do you have any questions?” to which he replied “yes” and found a nurse. That was the end of his plasma donating career, but I kept up with it. It only takes about an hour and is a fantastic place to read.
