History Always Catches Up

History has always been a focal point of my interests, especially artifacts and practices that date back thousands of years. As a human race we have come so far technologically, but still manage to use similar methods to create analogous results in some circumstances. Today, I am talking about photochemical machining. The process is fairly simple; a thin piece of metal is exposed to light and various chemicals in order to create an image on the piece. In our distance past, chemical etching was used, using citric acid that created a comparable result to today’s more precise methods. Continue reading
