Ever since we moved into my house many years ago there has been a huge tree in the backyard. The trunk on it was so large and it appeared to be two or three trees that had just formed together over the years. For the last few years no leaves grew on the tree anymore and we came to the conclusion that it was dead. A couple large branches began to fall in bad storms because the tree had become so brittle. It got so bad to the point that tree companies would stop by the house wanting to give quotes on the project because they could just tell that it needed to come down. Finally this past summer we got it cut down because we did not want it to eventually tip over and damage the house or any other surroundings.
As the team arrived to the house that day they brought many large trucks and equipment with them on site. The coolest one to watch in action was the chipper shredder. They would feed a large branch of the tree into one end and out the other came out shredded wood chips that were flung into the back end of a truck. These industrial shredders come in very handy to tree services because it is much more complicated to haul away a dead tree in large heavy logs than it is to condense the tree by shredding it into small pieces. A wood chipper is the tool that starts the very first process that happens when it comes to tree recycling. Chipper shredders are also used to shred other various materials such as tires, rubber, plastics, electronics and many more. With landfills filling up rapidly, these shredders can help cut down on the amount of waste going into them boosting the environments current state.
